Garage Door Prices

Every garage door we fit is made to measure, so the only way to get an exact price is a free survey. But we know it helps to have a rough idea before you start, so here’s a guide to garage door prices and the factors that affect them.

Guide prices (supplied and fitted)

  • Up-and-over garage doors — a standard single steel door typically starts from around £600–£900
  • Manual roller garage doors — typically from around £900–£1,200
  • Electric roller garage doors — typically around £1,200–£2,000 or more, depending on size and specification
  • Sectional garage doors — priced on survey, depending on size, panel design, insulation and motor
  • Side-hinged garage doors — priced on survey, depending on material, finish and locking

Prices are a rough guide only and vary with size, specification and site conditions. For a full breakdown, read our article How much does a new garage door cost in the UK?

What affects the price?

  • Size — double and non-standard openings cost more than a standard single door
  • Door type — sectional and insulated roller doors involve more components than up-and-over doors
  • Insulation — insulated doors cost more but improve comfort and efficiency
  • Electric operation — adding a motor, remotes, keypads or smart control
  • Finish and colour — woodgrain and special RAL colours can add to the cost
  • Brand — premium manufacturers such as Hörmann offer longer warranties and higher specifications
  • Installation work — removing the old door, making good the opening, or fitting a new frame

Repair or replace?

If your door is generally sound, a repair can be much cheaper than a new door. Our article on garage door repairs vs replacements explains how to decide, or see our garage door repair service.
